Aquarium animals happy at AIMS

Six months after completing the fish and coral relocation project, transferring hundreds of animals over several months from the Aquarium to the Australian Institute of Marine Science, the Technical Operations team are witnessing the fruits of their labour, with the Eastern Clown Anemonefish (Amphiprion percula) having laid two separate clutches of eggs within 30 days. Additionally, Green Chromis (Chromis viridis) off-spring have been witnessed in one of the larger systems.

These events emphasise some fantastic opportunities for future captive breeding initiatives and is evidence of the incredible work and dedication that continues behind the scenes to maintain best practice animal husbandry while the Aquarium is closed for redevelopment.
